[PUBLICATION] Dr. Zhang Chong’s paper published online in Nano Research

Feb. 2019

In this work, regulation of nanoparticle cellular uptake is achieved via the helical conformation and orientation of the anchoring polypeptides. Our results found that the helical polypeptide anchoring its C-terminus to the surface of the nanoparticles gave rise to significantly higher cellular internalization than all other control groups. This is a collaboration work with Prof. Lingdong Sun (PKU) and Prof. Xinghua Shi (Nanoctr). Congratulations to  all of the coauthors!

[PUBLICATION] Yingqin’s work published in ACS Central Science

Jan. 2019

Flexible polymers such as PEG are overwhelmingly preferred for protein drug conjugation. So, helix or coil, which polymer conformation would you choose for protein conjugation? Check the paper out and you may be surprised.

BTW, Yingqin has already published 4 high quality first-author papers and this is definitely not her last one in our group.

Big congratulations to Yingqin and all the coauthors.

[Awards] Yingqin won two prestigious awards in one month

Dec. 2018

Yingqin received two prestigious national students awards in one month: one is the ACS Shanghai Chapter Outstanding Graduate Research Award (one of the two first tier prize), and the other is Baxter China Young Investigator Award (First tier prize). She traveled to Shanghai and Suzhou to  give her award lectures on Dec. 8th and 14th, respectively. Congratulations!

[GROUP MEMBERS] Dr. Chong Zhang LEAVES THE GROUP

Oct, 2018.

Chong finishes his two-and-half-year term as a postdoc in our group and will join IBS in Ulsan Korea under the supervision of Prof. Bartosz Grzybowski. Chong has been a productive and incredible colleague. We wish him a bright future!

[PUBLICATION] Adv. Funct. Mater.: Protein Nanogel for Traceless Release and Cytosolic Delivery

Oct, 2018.

By collaborating with Prof. Zi-Chen Li and Prof. Fusheng Du, the two groups developed a simple formulation leading to facile generation of tandem pH-responsive protein nanogels. This nanogel is able to deliver the cargo protein to the cytosol in a traceless fashion. This technology may help the delivery of numerous protein drugs acting on target intracellularly. The paper is available online now.

[Group members] Sheng Kai leaves PKU for TSRI

July, 2018.

Sheng Kai, one of our best former undergraduate research assistants, finishes his technician appointment in our lab and will soon start his new journey in The Scripps Research Institute as a graduate student. Enjoy the sunshine and beach at La Jolla, and always do good science, Kai!

[Group members] Three Undergraduates students obtain their B.S. degree

July, 2018.

Mr. Yan Shupeng, Miss Zhang Yi, and Mr. Zhou Hantao, three undergraduate research assistants of our lab, obtain their B.S. degrees this summer. Shupeng and Yi will stay at PKU for graduate school, whereas Hantao will be a graduate student of Univ. Mass. at Amherst pursing his Ph.D. at the department of polymer science and engineering. We wish them all successful in the future.

[Group members] Yuan Jingsong is married!

July, 2018.

Jingsong steps in his new chapter of life with his better half, Miss Chen Ziying, and will no longer be alone in the rest of life. Huge congratulations to the happy couple!
